Default ** BLOWN HEADLIGHTS **

94 EG cx car is totally STOCK never been touched!!!! the headlights (on low beam as far as I know) will work fine for like 2 days then both of them will just blow (headlights that is) fuses are fine no cut or messed wires as far as I can tell. Haven't checked the relay yet (by the way where is it?). ANY IDEAS?????????

are they brand new bulds? and if u touch the actuall bulb thats why they blow.. you should only touch the black plastic... otherwise u shorten the life.. could blow when ever then

do you have the rubber seals on headlights?

has the car ever been in a wreck?

never touched bulbs. never in a wreck that involed the front end and yes i have the rubber seals in the headlights

did u test the switch yet? checked grounds? and are these oem bulbs?

no didnt test the switch. how do i do that?

they bulbs from advance auto.

no fuses are blown

I looked and checked awhile back no corrosion or loose grounds and will check again 2marrow

ur using 55/60w bulb correct? and did u check fuse 21 and 22? and 9 and 10?

and this may be dumb.. but have u checked the switch to make sure its getting good contact between terminals..

i got the 9003's that the book listed for the car. Im not sayin the bulbs are the problem but i dont think they are but i will double check on the wattage. and all the fuses check out. bein that its a CX there are not a lot of fuses and all of them r 10 amp fuses. but I will triple check them. there is no fuse box cover on the inside on the car either.

dang thats crazy... hmm if ur looking under the dash with the relays on the right ok
iam going to type the numbers from RIGHT to LEFT ok from the relays on the right of that under dash one k

12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 spare
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 space 9 10 11 spare relay

11 is below 23 and 20 has nothing below it


check these fuse9/10/19/21/22

and the others. try that man. hope somethign helps ya

how hard is it to test the switch or change the switch

stick a multimeter in the bulb contacts, turn the car on, hit the lights, and measure the voltage that runs through it
same for the battery while running
if its high, your alternator's voltage regulator could be shot
