I'm thinking of doing a project hatch with the "mini me" setup because I have a certain budget. D16y8 head(ex- vtec) on to a D16y7 block(cx/dx-non vtec). My questions are, is it legal and can I pass a smog test?? It would really help guys if I can get some feedback. Thanx!!!! I did a search and I got no results.

um there was a huge write up about this bauley civic or something is his user name. but on the legal issue um im going to have to say just being from cali also and i know what *** whole thay are about smog ****. they will probably say that you need to go to a ref to get it passed, there is no reason why it shouldn't be legal, but also there no reason for us having to go to a fuckn ref when we change motors

I would be willing to bet that 99% of people would never even notice the head was not the original.
