Default Skunk2 Cold Air Intake

I found this searching around, looks like a good deal on the new Skunk2 CAI for the 06-11 Civic Si.

Here is the link:

I had this intake with a full 3.5 coupler with IAT sensor, This was the best intake by far. My previous intake was an Injen CAI. I think skunks intake is a better buy than the hybrids racings.

Hybrids cai hasn't even been released so how can you say that s2's is better?

its really just personal preference. not bashing Hybrid. hybrid racing makes awesome quality products, i personally love there products. Both intake's make great overall power. Hybrid's intake is probably better than the skunks design. I didn't mean to imply that the hybrids intake's suck, compared to the skunk intake, (my bad) wrote it wrong. But there intake design does look like the ricks spec intake. I just prefer skunk's setup of, how it presents its self in the engine bay, just looks cleaner in opinion. didn't mean to come off has a skunk2 fan boy lol

I read that because h.r's intake will be using silicone piping it has better protection against heat soak vs sk2's. I am currently on the fence for both

i don't think the skunk2 intake has any heat soak, every time i went for a drive, the intake piping was always cold. The only heat soak i can think of was the coupler that connected to the throttle body. its was not even hot, just a little warm.

Honestly I have to say Skunk2 did a great job on the intake and for the price it right up there with the best of them. At the end of the day it is just an intake but this one is well designed and has the right pipping size.

Has no one on H-T heard of the Rick Spec'd intakes? Before the HR dynos were released, these made the most power.

Hey Guys,

I am wanting to get a intake for my 08 si and i was looking at the skunk2 kit. My only concerns with this kit is that is a true cold air intake and i have heard stories/myths of someones cold air intake sucking in water on a rainy day. Has anyone had a problem with this or am I worrying about something stupid that most likely wont happen? Let me know, Thanks!!

so get the hybrid racing intake then. has a built in bypass valve so no worries about sucking up water.

The problem with the Hybrid intake is the design of the cuppler is poor. They have a lot of issue with the intake coming off all the time.

Not saying it's an inferior product but the design has a flaw that has cause a lot of complaints.
