Default Backfire problem?

Hello everyone,

So I recently installed the megan racing headers for my 07 civic EX. I like the noise and all, but I believe I havea backfire problem. When shifting above 3k rpm or down shifting, you hear the backfire noise pop. I am trying to figure out if it is bad for the motor? If I am accelerating in first hear and let go, I hear like popping every second until the RPM drops to about 2300.

So I am trying to figure out if it is bad for my motor, and if I can get something to prevent it, or check if possible.

It's a 07 Civic EX
mods:
Megan racing headers
DC sports catback system
k&n short ram

well, the fact that it is a racing header means you no longer have a catalytic converter, so any unburnt fuel is igniting at the end of your exhuast when it hits the oxygenated air. if you havent tuned it, perhaps you are running a bit rich for the new race header

some companies label headers that they sell with high-flow cats as "race headers."
