2006 tensioner bolt problems
I bought a 2006 Honda Civic (vin# listed in TSB) in late June 2016 and in December the tensioner bolt broke-we had it fixed since I didn't know at the time it was an ongoing issue and it ran great till last Friday when it broke again, I had the car towed to my mechanic and he fixed it and test drove it and it broke again-I have now researched this and see this is a huge issue and now I am being told by my mechanic I need a new Engine block which is referenced as a fix--IS THERE ANYTHING THAT HONDA WILL DO ON THIS TO FIX IT-WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDATION FOR THIS NOW-AM I JUST SCREWED???

Re: 2006 tensioner bolt problems
Are you using the updated belt route ? http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/mechanical-problems-technical-chat/138442-product-update-tsb-09-007-drive-belt-auto-tensioner-pivot-bolt-replacement.html
The only reason the bolt breaks is due to the old belt route. When they do the first updated belt route due to the service bulletin then they change the bolt and that normally fixes it.
