Re: The OFFICIAL wheel thread.
I don't give a crap about them being replicas or knock offs or whatever. Not everybody can afford to throw a set of Volks or Works on their daily machine. I believe replicas are a must in this world. And no, I've never actually owned a set of Rotas myself, but I know a few guys who have. Sadly their wheels cracked under regular everyday driving conditions.
Sure, Rota might have a great history, but I can only speak based off what I've seen. And it doesn't look like the quality has held up over the years.
Anyways, I'll see if those 18" KZ-K wheels are available in a 40mm for my buddy. Otherwise, is there anything else you guys can think of that might give him a similar look? Thanks again.

Re: The OFFICIAL wheel thread.
If I had a dollar for seeing the same handful of pictures of broken rota's. That proves nothing. ALL brands of rims break on a daily basis. So somebody takes 4 pictures of broken toilets and now toilets are crap. Nahh. I'll stop here because I don't want to pollute this tread with an argument over rota's.

The Runaway is a pretty nice wheel. I'm not a huge fan of black on black, but it works. I'd probably go hyper silver or gunmetal.

Re: The OFFICIAL wheel thread.
Me too. Didn't mean for this to happen. Sooo moving on...
Ok, so my friend with the SI changed his mind because he didn't realize just how popular the time-attack look was on black civics. Now he wants these instead. Just thought I'd give an update. Not sure when he'll order them. But I told him to send me pics when he gets them so I can add to this thread. If I (or should I say if HE) has anymore questions I'll be back in here to contribute to the thread.
Enkei Performance EV5
18", 21.4lbs, will aim for a 40mm offset

Re: wheel and offset help!!
Well your in Pa and Im in MD if you wanna come look at my car you can. Im on 18x8 +42.
The stock wheels are 17x7. If you wanna run 17x7 with a +38 you wont have rubbing issues on a 215 40 or a 205 40. You can run a 17x9 with a 38 offset on 215 40s and 205 will not fit a 9in wide rim. you might even wanna look at 225 40 for the 17x9. You may have to adjust camber in the front and rear to make them fit but it can be done.
Look in the picture thread near the end and youll see Csmiths car. Its on like 17x9 +28 offset and hes slammed. But hes also running like -2.5 or -3.5 degrees of camber

Re: wheel and offset help!!
If you have about 1 inch of a gap between the fender and the top of the tire, 7 mm will not effect you to the point of the two surfaces rubbing.

Re: wheel and offset help!!
I have 245/40/17s on 17x8.5 +40. It works front and rear but in the rear you have to roll the fenders and front you have to bend the tabs and run -2 or more camber. I don't run a camber kit rear. Lowered about 1.8" on OEM shocks with progress springs which I don't reccomend buying.
the stiffer your suspension, the less likely you will rub in the rear. With stiff coilovers and camber kits, people make lots of offsets and tire combinations work.

Re: wheel and offset help!!
ok ill give you some help, if your coils are maxed out in the rear that means youll be running like -3.5+ of negative camber in the rear. you can fit ALOT of wheels back there. i have fun 18x8.5 +41 and i never ever rubbed.
heres pics
and here is my current setup that you will rub for sure, with 18x9 +28 No camber adjustment at all in these pics. Just lowered, and how im riding now. but the fenders have been rolled, thats it.
