shifter problems?

Default shifter problems?

my shifter is tight going into 2nd 4th and r has anyone else had this problem it just started last week. i like to know how to fix it or if its a big deal

It could just be that the shifter box needs lubrication. Its a common thing for the main ball joint in the shifter box to seize up a bit over time. Some white lithium grease will solve that.

Do you just remove the center console to access it?

Inspect your shift cables. Make sure they're not worn, binding, or missing any parts.

Don't rule out the possibility of an internal issue.

Do not know if your car has seen road salt, check the cable linkage end at the transaxle. Bushing with a brass insert bonds to the steel linkage control mechanism on top of the transaxle, and causes shifting problems.

i havent looked into it yet it just sudenly stoped being so hard. idk if it was the fact it was so cold or their may have been salt on it. strong possiblity because i barley have fender wells
