help with crankshaft situation.
First off, I had a huge problem with my car rattling for the past week. I didn't care for it much cause I had the problem and it went away after a while. But this time my car broke down and caused it to throw a CEL code for the TDC sensor. I thought it was just the problem so I ordered the part and then took my car apart to find out my timing belt was loose. I tore it down some more to find that my harmonic balancer was rubbing against the timing valve cover and the tensioner spring had broken. What a shame. But I also found that my harmonic balancer's thread on the inside where it connects to the crankshaft had been all stripped because the woodruff key had been loose. So I thought I'll just ordered some new parts and when I got it in, the NEW harmonic balancer would not fit onto the crankshaft noting because of what happened with the old harmonic balancer. The crankshaft sprocket would not slide off of the crankshaft . It would get stuck half ways. But of course the old harmonic balancer would be able to fit back on, and I put on the new key for the balancer and it does not sit flush with the balancer or the crankshaft. My crankshaft has a dent on it, which I did not realize until I tried to put on the new harmonic balancer. It lead me thinking, would I need a whole new crankshaft, new motor, or basically I'm just screwed and try to get a new car? Any help with this situation?
