Default 4g63 swap civic.

Hello, I am new to Honda. I kinda always swore I would never own one but I am getting ready to buy one actually. I want a mid 2000's model and I want to swap a 4g63 into it. I just have no idea what I would need to do so. if anyone could help me out with this and maybe tell me the best way to go about this please feel free. Thanks in advance.

I guess my question is... why? A 4G63 turbo in an evo does 270 hp... The smaller K20A2 or Z variants are a DOHC 2.0L 200 HP N/A engine which can easily be brought up to 300 with boost, and the drop in kits for them are readily available for the 7th generation (2001-2005) and 8th generation (2006-2011) civics. You'd need some custom axles and some very creative wiring as well, where the K20 or K24 engine swaps can be done with readily available wiring harness conversions and ECU tuning.

Also, the Si's from the 2000's come STOCK with the K20s. The 7th gen Si hatchback has the weaker K20A3 @160 hp, the 8th gen gets a K20Z engine @ 200 hp. both can be boosted and tuned for more power, or you can find them or Acura RSX's at junkyards for the engine swaps.

The acura TSX and some later model Sis have the K24s, most around 220 hp with larger displacement too.

If you already have a 4G63 I guess it would make sense to *try*, but the custom fabrication and wiring hurdles are immense if you don't have previous experience.

Looks like admins moved it from tech/misc to 7th gen civic (2001-2005) So I guess welcome to the correct sub-forum.

For all intents and purposes, no one is really going to be much help on this swap idea. Mainly because its never been documented before, and the K-series engines will be far simpler and superior in the long run.
