Wierd... Its a DX-se motor Meaning D17a1 NON VTEC, it was replaced at 140,000KMS Due to burnt piston? ( lost compression completely in one cylinder)
now the new motor is burning alot of oil. its been in the car for 9 months never gave me a problem to recently. its smoking but i can't tell if its blue.
There aren't any leaks.
The car currently has a Cold air intake ( full one ) and a 2.5(?) exhaust.
I know some problems could be
PCV failure
Rings
Valve seals.
any help would be appreciated.
PS: its not my personal car its a friends. So accuracy would be key

Is the overheating at all could be a head gasket. Change the oil see if it's a milky color. You could do a compression test that would narrow it down to rings, valve seals, or head gasket.

Who said it was overheating? temperatures gauge reads just under half which is the same as my other 2 em2's.

I'm thinking it has something to do with the hose going from the valve cover to the intake. might put a breather on both and see if that fixes it
I know this post might be a year later but thats kinda good in a way because mine is doing the same thing!! '05 SE also with cold air on it...did you end up with any sort of resolution to the problem?? I'm goin through alot of oil over here
Use a Heavier Oil, 5w 20 is ****, its like water, if your enginer has either bit of wear at all you will most certainly have oil getting up past your rings.
My 01 burns oil, I use 10w30 with a half litre of Lucas oil in mine, i burn about a quart every 600 km's, whereas i would burn about 4 quarts when i used 5w20.
I care not to fix the problem, i only want the engine to survive the winter and then im squeezing in my k24 thats been sitting in my basement all summer, lol

yea i have switched over to 10w30 but it still puffs some nice blue smoke on start up here and there, I'd say i'm goin through about a litre after every 500-600kms as well, which is alot. I don't know what to do with the car, don't have another motor, dont want one....maybe i'll just get rid of it all together, although its a shame I've had the car since new and its only 6 years old...thought hondas were supposed to be much more reliable than this
If its puffing on startup then its not your rings, likely your vavle seals, you might also just need a valve adjustment, when was the last time you had one?
For the raping ive given that engine i still say hondas are some of the best on the road, im pushing 200,000 km's and only now the engine is showing its wear, my engine see's redline often.
