Re: (acrocat)
Rage gold will work fine for the bay. It is way cheaper and is only slightly more poreous than metal glaze. I used rage gold, sanded, then used a high build primer, sanded again, and sealed it with ppg epoxy primer then top coated.

Re: (Weak!EG)
yeah oil will cause paint to break down and fisheye, just clear it, clearcoat acts as a protective barrier from the sun and contaminants, let the clear set for awhile though before you plan on putting the tranny in

Definitly clear it. If you spill something it just wipes right off.

yeah I was just about to say that.
you don't have to clear coat it.
mines not clear coated and still no chipping or any problems
if you clear it use, none chipping clear....the expensive stuff from the paint store.
Professional stuff
the good stuff
the stuff that will look good
get the point
I would even say so much as to get it professionally clear coated

Re: (Weak!EG)
If you dont clear it in a few months it is going to look like ****... plain and simple
You wont be able to clean it because the degreaser will remove the paint.. Personal experienece. Also when you clear it... it is going to look less polished like it does now.
