or if the hole is centered perfect you can just drill till the threads of the bolt are left then flick them out with a pick. leaving the threads in the aluminium.

ive done both of these methods numerous times with sucess.

a tap is designed to cut new threads oversized from the actual bolt.

use a thread chaser. you can make one out of a bolt of the correct thread, cutting 3 or 4 vertical slots equidistant from each other on the length of the bolt threads. The depth of the cut should be down to just beyond the minor diameter of the thread.
Thanks a lot!

Thanks guys but I didn't really have a choice. This valve cover came with the original B16 swap and was already cut. So now that I've put the cover on the B18C I had to cut the timing cover to match. I personally think the original one came out cleaner and I know I'm going to take this one off some time when I'm bored and straighten out that cut.

For me, those "moon cut" valve covers bring me back to 99-00 and the craze of eBay parts. The open area was useful this past weekend on the dyno (where the picture was taken obviously) but if I had my preference nothing would be cut off.

Try and find a set of left handed drill bits. The process is the same, but since you're turning the bit in the opposite direction, sometimes the bit will grab just enough to back the bolt out as you work on it.

Its hard to do it if you dont have it in a drill pressed.

Some parts can't be put on a drill press, like rear end of my car (OEM rear upper bumper mounts are welded to my car).

My bay... still needs alot of work including the h22 swap that has yet to be done. The paint didn't turn out as good as i liked so that might be redone to. It's also not clear coated yet.

Haha yeah he is *** raping kids, especially when you can get the booster delete kit for over $100 bucks less from KCC, then buy $20 dollars worth of brake line, a few AN fittings and DIY
