well said LOL....if you think about it, with rota and their more current technology (whether it be better than before) in making or casting wheels..it might actually be better made than the originals using like 80s technology, dont you think? i dunno if that even made any sense LOL but watever

I'm just waiting for Rota to go pubic so I can buy some shares.

Then use the money to buy me some Mugens.

Oh the irony.

I'm not entitled to say that for legal reasons

I will say this in regards to the rims. If you really plan on getting them I would make sure you plan on keeping them. Cuz I see it this way if these rims become the new hot phase just because it is a copy of Mugen a lot of people are going to be wasting money. These wheels do not look good on every car. And I know a lot of people buy rims just because they look good. So in the long run someone is going to buy the wheels with hopes of getting :fap: points at a car meet/show and realize they look like total *** and then end up trying to sell them and realize you just lost 3/4 of the money you spent on them because of the resale value of original CF48 anyway

So with any "new" bandwagon wheel buy with caution.

To all the Rota Haters, get a life.

I've got a set of old school Rota Hockenheim like rims, perfectly good for everyday, and a set of Mugen M7's for show.

When you all move out of your parents basements and start funding your lifestyle yourself, you will quickly realise that having the sheeplike mentality will quickly send you back to your parents, cap in hand.

For most people, they don't care about whether their stuff is original, its just you retards who with your obsessive ****** rainman syndrome behaviour, price everyone else out of the game. I hope Rota make every damn wheel ever made, that should make the original stuff come back to a realistic price! I only hope they start making steering wheels, because i'll be fucked if im paying 1500 bucks for an FG360 because you trust fund teat suckers have pushed the price up.

Rota &gt; ALL
Honestly, i've had my share of "rare" wheels, Mugen Mf10s.Mugen M7s, WEDS SPORT RS-5 and to me there is no justification as to having to fork out 1200+ for a set of authentic wheels when i can 2 Sets of Rotas which accomplish my same goal. Regardless of its authenticity to me they both get the job done for me atleast, other hardparkers dont give a damn. Rota is genius and some people just get upset that they are replicating there glorious wheels, i can careless, are you "ballers" losing anything? Is it life threatning, chill out it's not that serious, if it is, i think you should double check your life priorities. Anywhoo these wheels look like **** regardless from Rota or Mugen. Anyways, LONG LIVE ROTA!

They use all kinds of lame excuses to take the cheaper/easier alternative/shortcut,which is OKAY,but then when a thread like this pops up,they turn around and try to down talk the same ******* look that brought them here in the first place, the same look that they're trying to imitate,AND THAT is what bothers me about rota/fans of rota. If you dont have money to spend, there are a LOT of alternatives that DO LOOK GOOD besides rota, and you dont have to imitate anything. </TD></TR></TABLE>

Hey Sasha, if we're going to use the imitation argument, don't forget to mention that the Japanese have been imitating the Europeans for years. Do you ever see Germans/Italians/French/British/Swedes busting a rant about these JDM companies copying their wheels? Never mind other technologies, such as VTEC which have made Honda a household name in the automotive industry (invented by Alfa Romeo).

Other alternatives that look good are many, but don't forget that this site compromises mostly of residents of the U.S.A. and the American market has not embraced what other markets have to offer.

Rota did what is taught in Business 101, they followed the rule of supply and demand. Following the post-"FnF" era there was a demand for this "JDM" style and Rota offered the Supply.

Now as for the CF48 knockoffs, I like them. I'm not ashamed to say it and I could care less what other people think. Mugen may have made those way back in the 80's but there is no way in hell I'm going to spend my life searching every hidden realm of the internet just to have originals with no dings and the plates. If I could go to a wheel shop and find a new set of Mugens or Rota, I'll save up for the Mugens. But I'm not going to subtract months of my free time just so the H-T elite can give me 's up on a thread.

We've gone from Rice, to Function / Form, to Form Follows Function, to Form justifying Function.

Some people want "real" rims and they'll go to extra lengths to get used rims and spend hours restoring them and thats fine. Some people don't have the money, time or energy to be bothered and just want something that looks nice. When has that become a crime? If thats the case we should all throw out our jeans and go back to wearing tapered Levi 501's. Because those are OG y0!
</TD></TR></TABLE>

Well put.

personally, I am not happy about this.

I have spent a LONG time locating a set of REAL ones that are COMPLETE.

It's easy to come across a set missing the center caps and aero discs, but rare to come across one complete. It would really suck beyond belief if the aero discs from the rotas fit on the Real deals. I hope they don't fit. There is a BIG price difference between a set without the aero discs and one complete. Of course like 98% of you people that have posted in this thread wouldn't know that cause you never came across a complete set.

I'd still rock knockoffs, but rota made me sad
