If you have a pre-1988 Civic, which many people already consider "ugly," a set of Mugen CF-48s match the car even though they're "ugly" as well. People don't necessarily buy them becuase they're Mugen, they buy them because those were THE performance wheels back in those days.

This may be true in some cases, but I think its roughly the same percentage of people choose evisu jeans because they're better quality.

most of you who complain about rotas probably don't have real "rare" "cool" wheels anyway. People will buy what they can afford point blank. No sense in people wasting time arguing about it every time someone posts up a new one. I swear this place is just like high school only with a lot more people.

Fashionistas... now theres a word I never expected to hear on H-T. Btw I like your 17's on the coupe.

We've gone from Rice, to Function / Form, to Form Follows Function, to Form justifying Function.

Some people want "real" rims and they'll go to extra lengths to get used rims and spend hours restoring them and thats fine. Some people don't have the money, time or energy to be bothered and just want something that looks nice. When has that become a crime? If thats the case we should all throw out our jeans and go back to wearing tapered Levi 501's. Because those are OG y0!

Oh and the "rota weighs more hurting track time arguement" is a bit weak. $1500 to $3000 just for rims to shave less than half a second off your 1/4 times can be spent to improving your engine/suspension/brakes improving your times by more than a second - if not more - if you want to take that route.

I find this whole Rota hate thing comical.

I don't see why this is such an issue.

If you are buying the real thing for quality etc. then who cares if there are replicas out there? You bought the original for the quality.

If you are looking for some kind of baller status just because you got 3000$ ugly *** wheels from the 80s then you bought it for the wrong reason. You still drive a <10000$ economy car.

Most people buy wheels for cosmetics, so to Rota for making wheels that don't cost more than the actual car they're going on.
