Opinions on 17's
Okay, I am looking at some Motegi 17 X 7 wheels with 205 40 17 tires. I have Tokico Blues paired up with H & R sports (1.75f, 1.5r). I have an Ingalls camber kit waiting to be installed (camber is not that bad on the car). Argue your point on why I'll be okay with this setup or why I should change my plans from this. I'm trying to see the pros and cons people are experiencing with this or similar setups.

Re: Opinions on 17's (backlash)
17's are ok in my book. I have them on my teg and to me they look a lot better than 16's or lower. Fills the wheel well gap and just plain look better to me. It depends on you, are you alot about getting everybit of time off of your quarter, or do you want to drive something that looks nicer that weigh a little more. It all comes down to your opinion, half the people on this board will do anything to shave a .10 off of their quarter time, and some don't care about that and want a good looking car.

The width of the tire will give more traction (6.5 or 7 width) Depends on what you want to do, 17 are more for show, (just my opinion) if you want performance, go with a 15 inch rims instead.

my volk te37 17x7.5. Bad? I don't understand? Heavy? Nope. Wanna autocross? Go bigger and wider. If you wanna drag go smaller. If your roads suck where you live go smaller. If your all show go 18. 17 in my opinion is not all that bad. CL, TL, IS300 all come with 17 stock. In my opinion it's not a bad choice at all, but go with higher quality wheels, forged. Bending a rim is not a fun thing to experience, trust me.

Re: Opinions on 17's (94hondahybrid)
I'm not concerned with drag times cuz I'll just throw my blade rims on if I go to the track. My main concern is rubbing or bottoming out on the fender wells. A little rub while making tight turns or on hard bumps is accecptable, I just don't want it rubbing constantly. With the setup I mentioned at the top, will rubbing occur quite a bit?

You will not rub often with that setup. I am 1.7 lowered all around on 17's with 205/40's. I only rub if I enter a parking lot too fast, except at the bank. The driveway has a high incline. I am more concerned about rubbing my header, which happens sometimes.

I'm a fan of 16's for Integra's for a good looks/performance combination. Wouldn't ever do 17's personally on an integra.

Re: Opinions on 17's (UCBGSR)
I'm on a low budget, and I like the way the motegi's look. Like I said, if I want to do a performance run at the strip, I'll slap my blades on. If anyone can tell me where I can get a comparable wheel for around the same price (140), let me know.

Re: Opinions on 17's (fEEsh)
Fine you talked me outta them. How much do Rota's cost? Are they comparable in style? Also, I think I might just go 16's. It will still look good with aftermarket wheels and I won't have the headache of worrying about tire rub.

i had 17's and i wasnt happy. they were heavy, and the car just felt floaty. i have some LS rims now and the car is more agile thru turns and feels quicker. get 15's IMO.

rotas run about 500 a set shipped. They have some nice designs too. There is a group buy on for ADR 17's that look like the racinghart cpo-35 (rota subzero). 400 shipped for the whole set of 17's, or 360 shipped for 16's

Re: Opinions on 17's (zilverz)
i think 17's dont look proportional on an integra. the wheels look too big for the car. get some 15's or 16's. i agree that 16's are the best of both worlds. a good compromise of performance, looks, and price. cheaper for rims and tires.
