My old "rat-ish" sedan. Sold it before I finished the look.
My hatch with satin brown paint and freshly sanded hood.
In 2006:
A year or so later. Flat tan paint, hood rusting nicely:
Now its has a satin pearl paint on it.
Its not back together, yet.
I still have my rusted hood and I have yet another hood that I have some rat rod style plans for.

the rusty hood is such a bad idea. when it rains or gets the morning dew, that rusty water is going to drip down and start new spots on the car.

I was going to post this pic. this is closest car, in this form, to being a real "rat rod". as posted many times, flat black paint, color matched steelies, or rusty stock parts do not automatically make your car rat rod styled. it just makes it look like you can't afford or don't know how to finish your car.
that preppy looking green civic at the beginning isn't bad(also not a rat rod), but it seems like it needs something more too. maybe some more styling ideas from the 50's. the sweater style hood is kinda cool.
