Time to break out the rattle-cans. It was the only solution for my old ZC. Re-sprayed the block and intake manifold...And later the valve cover. I can't even describe the night and day difference. All of a sudden you then realize that little things like the dirty A/C condenser...

High heat engine block paint...They also have a similar paint for intake manifolds...Every auto parts store carries it. Never had any problems with the paint coming off...Just don't hold a super high pressure blaster 4 inches away from the painted surface.

you should use a 3500 psi pressure washer. I use that and it cleans my motor to perfection. Then I put max 2001 on the hoses. *note - The motor should be running, if you are planning to use the motor within 2-5 days.*

If you have the time, and the money, you could take it to be hot tanked by a machinist shop.

it was hot tanked but the freaking thing looks like it has underwater stains some how. anyhow..i painted it..but the freakin thing came out like a JG painted motor. the cap was a dull grey..but when it came out..it came out all shiny.

It will most likely get slightly dull after some warm up and cooling down sessions...Don't fret.
