Default DIY polish valvecover

i am looking for someone who has polished their stock valvecover themselves, or if anybody has done and wished they just painted it. just kinda looking for the grits/stripper you used, etc... any info at all would be cool. thanks

Take it off, remove the old paint with a belt sander and some coarse grit paper (Norton makes really good paper...use the blue stuff so it wont break) and some paint thinner if necessary. After you use the coarse paper (like a 60 or 80 grit) go to a 100 or a 120 to finish it off, then get high heat paint to paint it. Tip: after you paint it, re-sand the HONDA DOHC, or whatever words you have on it. If you try to paint it another color it will look REALLY bad, unless you do it very slowly. I've never done this but just talked to my friend who did his ZC this way.

Didn't he ask how to polish the valve cover, not paint it?

Search for it under ef/civic section..... I am polishing mine right now..well I am still in the sanding process... I will post pics when finished...
