Default 1157 bulbs

hey can someone help me here...i'm looking for some 1157 bulbs for my front turn signals....I'm lookin for bulbs that shine bright & white when i turn on the headlights..i'm trying to match my headlights & the turn signals...i've been unsuccessful & i've tried PIAA, raybrig, optiblue, razo. The closet i've gotten is with some LED bulbs but the bulbs make the blinker faster when i signal.. why? Thanks

thats because those LED bulbs were actuall true 1157 bulbs and didnt have all the neccesary connections for the leads given to it in the switch, thus the car assumed that your light bulb blew out and it is a way of informing you.

actually the LED 1157 doesn't draw nearly as much current as a normal bulb does, and so the signal blinks faster. The signal flasher speed is dependent on current draw.

Why don't you just go with some amber bulbs? That way you don't have to worry about everything matching up, and you won't stand out so much as being illegal, either.

It won't do anything but flash faster.

Try using PIAA Xtreme White or a cheap Eurolite bulb.

LED's won't blow out, unless they are overloaded. LED's will outlast the life of your car.

I posted this a while ago and i still have not found the right 1157 bulbs, well actually i didn't even look. So back to my search to match my 1157's and 194's. Does anyone know specifically what brand and the name of a good, bright, white 1157 bulb. I want it that color when i turn the lights on, not just when i signal because right now when i signal, my 1157s are nice and white but when they're not signaling, they are this ugly yellow-white color. Thanks for the help.

This is how i want the lights in my clear front bumpers to look like...

If you modify the bulbs so they are bright all the time, you will not be able to tell when you put on your signal, and you WILL melt the housings and bulb sockets. I know this has happened to several people.

I say again, if you just get amber bulbs, then you won't have to worry about all this color matching business, and it will appear the same color amber whether you are signaling or not. You also won't stand out to cops as much.

Well have you even looked yet. I mean you come on here and ask for help and you havent even looked yet . So it seems like your not going to find them but if you were smart you'd PM the cars with the bulbs you want and ask them. for having 53%, LoL. Next time plz try and look after recieving information.

I had my bumper lights "hyper white" for a little while. It didn't take too long for the cops to pull me over. Back to ambers for me.

In my car, since I didn't want to bother with bright turn signal bulbs and didn't want the orange on all the time, I made my 1157's come on only when I put my turn signals on or blinkers. I just taped one of the bumps on the bulb and at night, all you see in the front is the bright white lights.
