Transmission bolt on 2004 Accord
Hey guys, got a question- Whats the best way to loosen the transmission bolt on my '04 Accord? Its super hard to loosen! And just to be sure, the Transmission bolt is located under the car, right near the front, right? Thanks!

You are talking about the drain bolt correct? It's actually a female socket rather than a regular bolt? however the fill bolt is just like a regular bolt and it too is a bear to get loose. I wouldn't suggest using an impact gun on it though, that metal seems like it would be easy to crack if you put too much rapid force on it. I have a plain old 1/2 craftsman breaker bar that has worked for me.

In a Junkyard near you.

Work smarter not harder. Take a long extension and a socket and put it on the bolt, smack it with a hammer a few times. Then you should be able to release it easier.

Gonzo, best case would be to buy tools from Sears, use it, then take it back for a refund (done that many times ). Ultimately if you intend to do your own work I would invest in some tools.
And like Briq4 said, be careful using an impact tool on certain bolts or the material the bolt is on. A little elbow grease and some intelligence goes a looong way.
You are on the right track by asking questions first.
