Default Thinking of making the jump...

I'm a current owner of a 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX. I'm contemplating on trading in the WRX for a 2010 Accord coupe EX-L V6 6mt with right about 37,000 miles at a local dealer. All my friends are calling me crazy for even thinking of getting rid of the Suby, and even more so for essentially downgrading in the sports car sense, they're only argument is "You have a WRX!". I've enjoyed the Subaru greatly and have owned it since 2007, but now she is sitting at right about 172,XXX miles with original motor and tranny that will both need rebuilding/replacement by the end of the year. I'm sure the trade value won't be much for this car being its condition, but it seems recently that every problem I fix 2 more arise and I need a reliable daily driver, not a fast sporty car. Owning a turbo'd AWD car is great, but it has been my daily driver so doing all the upgrades/mods to sit at 400whp is simply unreasonable to put into a daily. Gas mileage are just about identical between to two cars and the Accord does not require 93 octane fuel. Any owners of the eighth gen Accord have any input as to how they like it? Especially those owners of the V6 6mt trim? My biggest disappointment would be from going AWD to FWD, but I live in southern Texas where snow is unheard of and the roads ice over maybe 1 week's worth out of the entire year.

Sounds like youre thinking a lot of sense. With the V6, you really arent giving up all that much power, although the Accord is no WRX. In terms of passing power though, the V6 is no slouch.

Your fun factor will take a hit (Less Power), but your reliability will go up and maintenance time will drop significantly. If you are ready to give up the WRX for daily, maybe keep her for the fun runs on the weekends!

The Accord will treat you well for a daily driver.
