Default SRS/Airbag Light On

My niece pulled the wiring out the back of the passenger seat and the Passenger air bag light came on. I took it to the honda dealership and they told me it was an Opds sensor failure. They said I needed to replace the sensor and the unit. The price would be 1,200. I think that is ridiculous. I really believe it had something to do with her pulling the wiring out and would think they would just reattach it. What other place besides the dealership could I go to too get a second opinion and a cheaper price?

Any competent aftermarket repair shop. But you will likely get the same answer, any time wiring for any part of the SRS system is damaged, it gets replaced, not repaired.Period. No shop or dealership wants to be held liable in the event of an accident....

Exactly.

Also keep in mind the SRS module is a one-time only thing. If it triggers (deployment, etc) then the unit has to be replaced. I had to do it in an ex's vehicle - cost was ~$250 or so for the main unit and took ~2 hours for me to swap it out.

I have the same repair same price... only difference is mine is for the driver side...I disconnected the left front impact sensor to help make some room while removing my intake, caused the impact sensor and the driver position sensor to fail...I learned my lesson
