Default Looking to buy a used accord... please help the noob

Selling my Girlfriends Audi Allroad this weekend and we want to either get an Accord or a civic for her. I was hoping that you could help me with any "watch outs" that I need to be aware of. In the Allroad, a timing belt at 90K cost us $1100 to replace... the dealer wanted to charge $1500!!!! If you guys (and girls) could let me know what concerns I should have, I would really appreciate the help. I have tried to search but I came up empty.

THank you,
Justin

if u get a used accord depending where u live prices may very, i live in nj and the price averages (05-07 2dr- 4dr)13000-19000 for used under 30k miles all depends where u look, also depends wat u like , sunroof, pwr windows, locks, alram, auto, manual, 4cyl-160-166hp, 6cly 240hp+...do u want power or do u want to save gas, civics run 06-08 15000-23000,the higher value civic is based on civic si with dohc 197hp about 132lbs torque i may be wrong on the torque , and also when buying a used vehicle a warrenty is important, i believe honda offers a 5 year-100,000mile warranty , and again depends on where u live..
dx low model, lx no sunroof, ex sunroof, same for civics, its always good to shop around and look for deals cuz there always someone selling a car with everything the same for less.good luck, hope this helps,,,,,,

I just bought a 2005 Accord LX from a private party with 55K miles and very, very clean. They were asking $13,200 (way below KBB at $14,600). I offered them $12,500 and they took it, so I think I got a pretty good deal. If you've never heard of http://www.craigslist.com, you should definite visit. Here's an example in the Austin area: http://austin.craigslist.org/cto/811250186.html

Do you homework before you go out buying, like check out value at http://www.kbb.com or nada.org.
