High pitched Metal noise
Sup, when i drive in reverse and turn the wheel, a metal high pitched noise occurs. I just changed my rear brake pads, and am suspecting the noise is from the front brake pads. I've done 2 rear pad changes so far without needing to change the front. it's just strange to diagnose a front pad change by hearing the metal noise while going in reverse. so weird, but has anyone experienced such before?? let me know, not too sure how long front pads are supposed to last, but i've owned my car for 35k so far without changing front

Re: High pitched Metal noise
i just think it's strange bc it almost always happens while going in reverse and happens as i turn the wheel. i just thought maybe something else would've been wrong with my car with the steering/wheels since it mostly occurs while turning, bc with the rear brake pads, they just have a metal noise whenever applied or just rolling. i thought it was strange / weird for the fronts bc everything on the brake pad is moving with the wheel/rotor while it is being turned, and don't see how turning the wheel would spark the front brake pads indicator noise. i thought that there would be a high pitched noise on the front brakes when i apply the brakes when driving, and therefore i would know to replace them. it's just weird to see that as i apply the brakes, there is no metal noise, but only when i go in reverse and turn the wheel, dats why i think it's weird

Re: High pitched Metal noise
i did thru the rims, but not with the wheel off, so i'm not sure. they looked fine tho to me. actually looked like they had sum meat left on em but i'm not familiar with front brake pad replacement since i've only done my rears b4

Just looking at the outer pad (through the rims) is not telling you much. The inside pad will always wear faster than the outside pad. I found it virtually impossible to see the inside pad without removing the calliper bolt, and pivoting the calliper up.
