Default HELP! - 2009 Honda Accord "Engine Malfunction Indicator"

So 2 weeks ago from this post, my radiator was damaged. I got it fixed and picked it up from the mechanic on Tuesday (1/18). The day after (1/19) my coolant gauge needle had gone past H in which my engine started to overheat. I happened to make it home from where I was, but I had to stop multiple times to let the engine cool. It so happens that the radiator tube fueling coolant had popped off so I was basically destroying my engine. I took it to the mechanic today and he put the hose back on and changed my oil since the oil was a bit burnt. However, when the engine is off and I turn the key to where all the lights are shown, the engine malfunction light stays on the screen, blinks a bit then goes away. When I start the car up, the light goes away. Should I take it to the dealer to get it checked out? If I do, how much will it cost to have them check it and how long will it take? But I also heard something about the light turning off on it's own? I'm getting extremely frustrated with all these stupid car problems, I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me out.

Sorry to hear that. That would be the car checking itself. The fact that it is off, while the engine is on, I would not worry about it.

Like GoLowDrew said, the engine is just checking its self. Also if you have a Auto. transmission when you first turn the car on the P light will be on, but at the same the the D light should stay lit for 5-10 seconds. The transmission is checking its self.
