Gas light in 2006 Honda Accord EX
Hi!
I'm new here and I don't have much patience (for which I apologize), so I decided to make a new topic in case there isn't already one about the 2006 Honda Accord EX that has about 58,000 miles on it.
I will admit I'm probably as stupid as the next person when it comes to this car because I inherited from my late grandmother who seems to have misplaced all manuals...Yeah. I was wondering if anyone out there might know the estimated miles remaining in the tank once the orange light comes on.
This has happened to me a couple of times, but I've always had money with me and was near a gas station so I didn't need to worry. Now, however, I do need to worry since I have a 30 drive to work on Monday and it's another 30 mile drive back...
Thanks in advance for anyone who can provide answers!

In most Honda models, there is generally a two gallon reserve left in the tank once the indicator hits E. This does not necessarily mean that the car will run for another 40-60 miles though; fuel starvation due to sloshing and other factors can play a role.
You shouldn't constantly run the fuel tank low though. It's bad for the fuel pump (the pump is cooled by the fuel) and it's more likely to allow sediments to be sucked up into the fuel system.
Fill up before the light comes on. There's no good reason not to do so, but there are plenty of reasons that you should.

It depends on where your driving If you r driving in city areas it may give low but If you r on highway it may give more mileage on reserve fuel

I guess the only way to find out, is to run it dry. I usually only get 13.5 gallons in right after the light comes on, so that would leave 3.6 gallons left in the 17.1 gallon tank. Don't know if it will burn all of it, or if it really holds 17.1, cause I've never run it dry. If you try it, let us know.
