Default Driver's footrest water leak -- 07 Accord coupe

It's been pouring here for the last 24 hours and I've noticed a water leak in my wife's '07 coupe -- it's dripping directly onto the driver's side footrest at the rate of several drops per minute. You can clearly feel it on your foot if it happens to be there.

I'm going to try to diagnose this in the garage tonight but thought I'd ask if this is a known problem or for any model-specific tips you may have.

Thanks!

You have a leak in the cowl area of your car, its getting into the ducting and dripping through there... either that or you may have a hole, missing grommet in your fire wall. since there is a drip I vote cowl/gasket issue

I'll dissent the cowl and say you need to pull back the inner fender on the back side of the wheel and look for a poorly taped wiring harness or a missing plug. If you have a sunroof you may have a loose drain tube too.

Indeed, generally that results in a PASSENGER side wetness, however the fluid can travel along the ducting to the drivers side, but usually not in such a new car

ALSO, this can occur after you've used a slim jim in order to unlock a car that has its keys locked inside. It's a longshot but I've had this problem & that was the cause.

So you're telling me that the water leaks I've repaired on the drivers side of an Accord were really coming from the passengers side?

Firstly, thank you all for the suggestions. I'm determined to at least track this down before I take it to the dealer as my local one really sucks.

I pulled back the plastic lining from behind the driver's front wheel and checked the 3 grommets I found there. One was just a plug and was very tight and snug. The second was the outlet for the left front sunroof drain tube and it seemed to be fine as I poured a ton of water down the drain hole using a straw and it all flowed out very quickly and nothing dripped inside. The last grommet was a fitting through which the hood release cable passes and it was also very secure. Unless I missed something, I don't think it's a leak in this area.

After all of this, I got inside and removed the lower cover on the driver's side dash (it's horizontal - covers the open space from the lower edge of the dashboard to the firewall). There's white matting on the backside of the cover and it was pretty damp on the left side toward the front of the car (nearest the driver footrest) so it would seem that something is dripping down onto that from above. The car had been sitting in a dry garage for a few hours so I didn't see any signs of drips or moisture up under the dash or on the foam/papery insulation on the firewall, so I'll use the hose on the outside tonight and have another go at it.
