Default Anybody Run 225/55-16 tires?

Yes, I know it's slightly larger diameter, but any other problems? Got any pics?

i know 55 is pretty tall but i guess it depends on what car.

225/50/16 is a good size.

u should check out the tire calculator too to see how much it affects the speedo

sorry i forgot the link.

I've seen 245 width tires run with no problems.

I run 235/45/17 with no problems and no speedo issues.

Actually, the 225/55-16 at 25.7" is closer to the original 215/50-17 (25.5") than the 225/50-16, which is 24.8".

The calculation is this:

Tire width x Aspect ratio x 2540 / 2 + Wheel width

You have to calculate the percentage difference, and that is your percentage difference with your speedo.

You also have to take into consideration sidewall size for the tire for the comfort of the ride.

I suggest speaking with a licensed tire tech.

A licensed tire tech told me the widest tire I could fit on my car was a 215, and I'm running 235s without the slightest bit of rub and a friend with the exact same car is running 245s with no spacers, so I beg to differ.

I run that size with no rub or lack of space. It doesn't affect my speedo either, and I am a tire guy. Worked with Goodyear for a number of years in various fields including installation, and sales.
