Hello Folks,

So, my in-dash changer finally failed this past winter, as most will. Mine is the one with XM, and the changer behind the climate control panel.

Rather than fix that one, I decided to install the 6 CD changer that mounts below the climate control cluster.

I got a unit, and bought the install kit from Honda. I also bought the cable needed to connect the changer.

I removed my tape drive, from that slot, pulled the y-cable, that fed the tape player, and replaced it with the y-cable that came with the install kit.

I then connected the cable that connects the changer, to that new y-cable.

I pulled the negative battery cable, and let the head unit reset, and then re-connected the battery cable, entered my security code, for the head unit, and powered it up.

The head unit does not recognize the new cd changer. All the forums I read, said that it would work.

Any ideas, on how to get the head unit to recognize the "external" changer?
