2006 Accord Sudden Dead Battery
I have a 2006 Accord EX.
I never had any issues like this before but this morning I went to start my car and the battery was completely dead. I jump started it and went to work.
After work the battery is dead again. I get it jumped again and drive home.
At home I test the battery voltage, 12.4v. Next, I remove the positive terminal from the battery and test amps. It’s pulling 3.2A, no wonder battery is dying.
The strange thing I notice is that when I connect my meter to test for amps, I hear a click that sounds like a relay but it’s coming from somewhere inside the engine.
I then start pulling fuses until I can’t hear the click anymore. Turns out to be the #21 40A heater motor fuse. I test the fuse, it’s good, and put it back in.
I test amps again, no click and pulling .03A
My question:
I assume the heater motor is the blower but what was that click in the engine, or near it, that’s related to the heater?
What should I look into fixing/replacing if this happens again?
