100k no scheduled tune ups
I bought an 08 acord coupe V6 and it has the 100k no scheduled tune ups but when I look at the manual it say the timing belt should be changed every 60k. Am I looking at the whole thing the wrong way? Is the timing belt not considered a tune up? I guess its considered maintainence but aren't they one in the same.
Oh and fluid and filters aren't part of the 100k no tun ups.
Thanks for any help

Re: 100k no scheduled tune ups (Snowwhitecoupe)
The timing belt isnt due to 105,000. Plugs due at 105,000. You should change your trans fluid every 30,000, your air filter when its dirty. Oil when the light comes on. And keep and eye on your brakes and make sure you rotate your tires every other oil change. Other then that everything else should be fine.
And yes timing belt is maint. not part of a tuneup. Basically the only tuneup parts are plugs and they are good till 105,000. No distributor so no cap and rotor and no plug wires.

This is what i would do if i had a new car with maint minder. air filter and hvac every 15k tranny fluid every 20k rotate tires every oil change and i would do oil changes every time it goes to about 30-40% or use amsoil and go to 15%. also coolant every 50k. thats not the reccomended honda maintence just my personal one. i work on there cars everyday and that is when i notice when these fluids start to break down

yes but at around 40-60k it breaks down and turns more green instead of the aqua blue. this is not what honda recomends. this is what i follow for my personal car that i am sharing.

Re: 100k no scheduled tune ups
I just picked up an 08 Civic LX, 125,000 kms.
Car looks great, but no maint records. Was wondering what to do just to be safe...
Thanks for the info above, looks like plugs, Trans fluid&filter, change oil when the light comes on.
In addition, brake fluid is recommended at 3 yr mark, so that will drain and fill as well.

Plugs typically say 100k I would still do them sooner as well.
Trans fluid, 50k miles maybe a hair more.

Re: 100k no scheduled tune ups
Thanks for the tips.
I ended up doing Trans fluid+filter, oil change, Brake fluid drain and fill.
Next month will do an tune up and coolant flush.
