I drive an 03 Accord with 260k that has hardly given me a hiccup for 4+ years. When I went to start the car last night, the noise coming from my car was 4-5 times louder than the normal engine hum.

Literally has never made that sound before, sounded completely normal the day before. Noise seemed to be coming from the engine area, it was hard to locate, I have not left the engine running for more than a couple seconds.

The only comparison to the sound I can make is a race car, it is way too loud. Based on research through forums, it seems it may be an exhaust issue (my oil level is fine).

I've searched multiple forums and can't find anyone with a similar problem. Any advice on what the sound is/how to fix it? I'm afraid to even let it run for more than a few seconds. Car is manual if that makes a difference

EDIT: Resolved issue - someone stole my catalytic converter... smh
