What door lock system is installed on 1996 Accord?
I'm wiring a new alarm system/remote start CARVOX- CX999. Does anyone know which power lock system honda uses for the 1996 model? the possible choices I can think of are:
Negative triggered
Positive triggered
Reverse polarity
Vacuum type
Positive Multiplex
Negative multiplex
I appreciate your insight into this subject

I hate electrical
I'd call it negative/ground trigger via control unit.
If my stuipid memory is even close....there is an open two pin connector by the fuse box (no factory system or aftermarket already tied into it) that will allow you to tap into the control unit.
Ground to the ORN wire - pin #7 at the unit should unlock the doors.....ground to the BLK/WHT wire - pin #8 at the unit should lock the doors.......USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

poorman212: Wow, you're right on. They are right where you said they would be. I think it is on a 3 wire plug. Thank you for your "terrible" memory lol, but it worked wonder for me. Now I can go on and figure this last puzzle out--I have the alarm and remote starter working so far but not the power door lock.
How do I thank you on this board(I am talking about the score card)?

No score cards or anything like that....the fact that I was able to help in some way is enough.
Not sure by your last post but is it all working now?

Re: What door lock system is installed on 1996 Accord?
Yes, I finally got the power door lock working with the alarm after your confirmation of it being a negative trigger lock. My door lock can now lock/unlock when being armed and disarmed respectively.
I did not have to use a provided relay since the built-in lock system on this vehicle has a control unit already (found that out by accident though). The installation menu for this model comes with a very concise installation instruction and isn't meant for beginner.
You seem to know the wiring well. Thank you!
