Default tranny problem....

wussup honda-tech?
to start things off.
my friends got an 1990 automatic accord
1. the "S" light or other words the overdrive keeps on flashing. i have a feeling the sensor is bad.
2.when the overdrive is on it revs hella high then shifts. when the overdrive is off it shifts fine
3. today like any day the overdrive light was flashing. we drove it and it wouldn't shift into 2nd or anything other gear. when the overdrive was off it started shifting.
4. my question is...is the tranny just done or is there something just wrong with the overdrive system?

thanks!

You can retrieve a flash code using the service check connector.
