well i decided to go with the h23a motor and the euro r t2w4 tranny.

now i would like people opinion on an ecu

i ordered the motor and tranny and it should be here next week and i will have it in by the week after that.

 

You're going to need to give much more information.

Are you staying OBDII?
Are you converting to OBDI?
Do you want an aftermarket solution?

 

well to start off i am not sure if i currently have obd1 or 2, i think 1 but not sure.

i was thinking the pcb ecu since that is usually what goes with the h23a

i know staying with the obd1 is usually what is best, plus the obd2 is harder for emissions and here in az i am not exactly sure how strict they are

 

If your Accord is the 2000 Accord in your profile, it's OBDII.......

Personally I would have figured out all that stuff before jumping the gun and buying a motor.

Well it depends on if you're staying OBDII or not, which is why I asked.

If you don't have to stay OBDII then I would try to downconvert to OBDI and run a chipped ECU like a P28 with a H23 tuned map on it. Then down the road you have the ability to reflash and tune the chip if you add additional parts (cams, etc)

If you have to stay OBDII, you'll need to verify whatever ECU you get doesn't have an immobilizer on it first. Then play with the distributors since they aren't a direct swap - I think the H22A4 dizzy would work. Then you could potentially use a H22A4 ECU as well - but these have an immobilizer so you'd need to sort that out. I'm not sure if the mystical USDM P13 OBDII manual ecu would work - but those are very difficult to find.

You honestly need to stop and do some searching. There are an abundance of H22A swaps in the Accord FAQ as well as Google, including talks of converting a motor or car to OBDI.

 

Security Features.... Immobilizer (chipped keys, ignition, theft prevention).


Figure out what you'd like to do. Do you have an OBD2 Wiring Harness? Do you want to re-wire. Maybe speak with someone who knows what you have.

 

ok, i decided im just going with the h22a for me to pass emissions here in az would be expensive with the h23.

 

Make up your mind and someone might be able to help you out. The H23 would be no more expensive to pass emissions than your re-planned H22 swap.

 

i know i am having a hard time making up my mind, but its better this than just jumping into something.

i am only planning on spending at most 5k
