So ive noticed some differences in some carbonfiber hoods, some are hard, like plastic and there shiny, and some are kinda like matte looking kinda has no reflection. kinda like in the pic im inluding. then the rx-7's hood is the glossy one. i dont get it are there two types of CF? or does one have a clear coat?

no pic??????
I assume from the description, one is just raw carbon fiber and resin without a clear, just a raw finish, the glossy ones are basically all clear coated in one way or another. Just a difference in look and possibly durability in finish.

sweet, that guitar will look good on your car.
Dry carbon is generally more expensive and has a nicer finish.

ok here the kind of CF I like its not glossy but it shines kinda but the color of it kinda fades and changes when you change your point of view.

i dont think there is diff types of CF. its just how its made or how old it is that makes it look diff. there is regular CF, dry CF, carbon kevlar, and diff colors of CF. but im pretty sure its all same. just diff looks.

It's a woven semi-metallic (ie shiny) material with a clear coat on top. There's nothing special about it.
As mentioned above there is dry carbon fiber and wet. And there is a difference there.

Re: Are there 2 types of CF hoods?
There are also different kinds of Polyester and Epoxy resins that are used to impregnate the fabric and gives it different properties, some are super hard and resist scratching and have super high gloss properties like glass, these parts have a higher risk of cracking and can be lighter. Other types of resins have duller finishes and can be more pliable making them more durable in high stress applications.
Fabrics
---Standard Carbon Fiber Fabric
your basic dark silver/black weave, used in most automotive parts, comes usually in raw fabric form for cosmetic parts.
---Pre-impregnated Carbon Fiber Panels
are generally placed in vacuum molds and heat cured for making structural parts.
---Hexcel Texalium Fabric
is usually called silver carbon fiber, it comes in multiple colors. It is basically 2 shades of color woven together. It is another synthetic material constructed the same way carbon fiber is.
---Colored Carbon Fiber/Kevlar Blends
Usually appears as a Black and Color mix, it is Carbon Fiber woven with Carbon Kevlar.
---Colored Carbon Fiber/Glass Blends
Same as above, except A wider range of colors (pastels and such) are blended with Carbon Fiber to make a wider range of colors. Weighs slightly more and has a little less strength than Kevlar Blends.
