SRS code 8-5 on 97 Honda accord
How do I fix SRS code 8-5 on my Honda accord. I checked the code and its internal failure of SRS or SRS unit. My car was side swiped before I got it. Doors and seat belt have been replaced, do I need to replace the seat also? Oh and can't reset the the SRS light either

Seat is not part of the SRS system, at least not electrically. There are two dash sensors and the unit itself is sensitive to erratic or low voltage issues with the vehicle.
Verify your battery is clean, fully charged, with clean tight connections.
Verify the main power and ground cables are also clean and tight.
Verify all harness connections and grounds are clean and tight.
If the SRS indicates an internal failure there is nothing you can do to fix it, however you will need to verify first that the problem IS the SRS unit and not a voltage or damaged harness problem.
Do you have an FSM for the Accord?

I stole this from another MM thread (https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-...-help-3231439/) Google is so awesome for searching an answer.
Verify battery terminals are clean and tight.
Verify battery cables are clean, tight, and not corroded.
Verify Positive cable to under hood fuse box connections are clean and tight.
Verify Negative cable to transmission and main bonding cable to body are clean and tight.
Verify Ground jumper cable on engine mount is correctly attached(large cable on both sides of engine mount bracket, thinner wire to valve/cam cover), clean and tight.
Verify your battery is not leaking electrolyte.
Verify battery/battery tray are clean.
Verify under hood and under dash fuses are not blown.
Verify your battery voltage fully charged is 12.4Volts with the car off.
Verify your alternator is the correct 90A unit for EX models, others use 80A.
Verify the charging system is working.
