Default Squeaking Question

Sometimes while breaking, my car squeaks as if the break pads are low from the driver side... I checked the break pads and they are fine, plus they were just replaced about three hundred miles ago according to the service records (I have owned the car for about 150 miles). Any suggestions would help, thanks.

Some pads squeak under braking, some squeak only under light braking, and then some don't squeak at all. The previous owner probably used some cheap pads since he/she was about to sell the car anyways.

Mine do exactly this.

I bought my CB7 about 2 months ago, and I checked the brake pads and they had 80% wear left.

However, they are teh suxers, and squeek quite a bit when I brake lightly. But when I put anything more than light pressure, they are completely silent. Go figure.

Nothing really to worry about. Just don't make the same mistake when replacement time rolls around!

metallic/longlife brake pads have more metal in them as compared to the stock ones that came from the dealer or organic ones therefore they may make more noise.

It would be nice to know what kind of car this is. Does it have rear disc brakes as well?

00 LX coupe ... Yea i think it does, not 100% sure though. The only thing that is throwing me off is that it does it occasionally, it is not consistant. They were fine for me one day, and then squeaked sometimes the next day, and were okay the last two.

Sounds like it's just the characteristics of the pads. I have Duralast Gold pads on my car right now (from Crap-O-Zone, aka Autozone), and they surprisingly only squeak on rare occasions. My girlfriend's car has the really cheap pads from Autozone, and they squeak more often, but not all the time.

OEM pads are the ONLY pads that I've had personal experience with that NEVER squeak.
