Default Speedometer problem

Hello everyone
I have 1991 Accord bought it used and it was in terrible condition, the speedometer is not working, nor the odometer. Now I'm a bit confused because the car changes gears normally, everything seems fine so I assume it's not a faulty speed sensor but as I knew as long as the sensor is fine the odometer should be working even if the speedo's not. Any thoughts? Thanks

Default Re: Speedometer problem

Usually if the VSS was faulty, there may be a trouble code. Even with a faulty VSS, the transmission will still shift as usual.

See this link for testing of VSS, wiring, and at the speedo.: VSS - Vehicle Speed Sensor Troubleshoot, Repair, Replace - How To.
