Performance gains?
Hello all, I picked up a cherry 91 accord ex with 140k on it & need some guidance! I put on a cat back exhaust, as well as a cold air kit, and would dig a few more ponies. Don't worry, brakes & suspension are comin up nxt! Is a tuner chip worth it on these older cars? I don't wanna rip apart the motor to do cams n all that, so Howabout a semi-chill turbo? I'm an older cat, no racing, it's just for my amusement & occasional straight line romp. Wuddya say? Tia for any suggestions!

Re: Performance gains?
as a rule, engines wear out and loose power. consider working to get back to showroom/factory condition and power before trying to add more. a regular tune up and compression test is a good start. a fresh O2 sensor (these do wear out eventually even if they don't throw a code), ignition timing check, injector service (send the off to be flow matched and cleaned to be like new) will also help get the most of the current set up (as well as upgrades).
the next thing you can do that will give actual result and not just "go-fast" noises is a transmission (gearing) upgrade. generally the prelude transmission will bolt right in and make the car feel much better under accel.
beyond that, you're not looking at much effect short of a swap, boost or in-depth build (internals/rebuild)
