p1696 code???
ok...here is my problem....i just did a swap in my 99 accord...i put the f20b in my car with the f20b ecu.....now i got it to run....but the tranny runs sluggish (hesitation)....the tranny is good...its a automatic...but i have the cel on...so i took it to the shop to check the codes...it came back with one code..p1696...pcm...so what i did was put my old f23 ecu back in to see if the tranny would run right n it did...but i cant run the old ecu...due to the fact that it has the wrong base map for the motor....so do u guys think i need to get a new f20b ecu?
there different ecus there not going to run the same. and since your running a f23 harness im guess and a f20 ecu im guess that some pins dont match. or some extra pins completed another circuit on your ecu and since you probably dont have the connection on the f20 motor the ecu is reading that the connecter is either not connecter or the sensor is bad. did you have any left over plugs after swap? my friends 99 civic ex had a 2000 si b16 swap. with a original b16 ecu. and there were some extra plugs that threw off a cel. had to unpin them from the ecu side of the harness to turn off the cel
