how to remove a pin on distributor shaft
I have 2000 Accord SE and tried to replace inner seal and have no idea how to remove a pin from the shaft. It looks like I have to push it out but I couldn't do it by hitting with hammer or anything yet. I didn't use much force afraiding of bending or breaking something.
any help is appreciated. If I know how to add a photo, I wish to....here

He's talking about a different kind of set up. His has a pin that appears to be pressed in like mine. I'm trying to figure it out myself...

Hold the rotor in a vice. You may have to use a pipe on the vice rod to get this part super tight in the jaws of the vice. You will know it is not tight enough, if this starts sliding. This is very important. This part is super strong and should not break even on tightening this with a vice. Do not blame me if this breaks though.....
Next use a pin punch 5/32 will only fit on one side. So hammer the pin out towards that hole. Use a smaller size pin punch. Hammer away. It took me a good 1-1/2 hours to get the pin out. Changing the seal ring took less than 5 minutes.
Hammering the pin back in took a good 1 hour.
By the time I was done the pin punch end was getting flatter and spread out. I used a craftsman pin punch made in USA from Sears.
I really do not know why this distributor was designed this way. After fixing this I cleaned up all the oil leaks around the engine (which had been happening due to this leaking seal over the last few years, of course I did not realize this till the oil leak stopped)!
