Re: How hard is a brake line replacement on 2002 Accord sedan?
I used to drive a bit recklessly but in 2006 I got on this "how much mileage can I get?" kick and I've been a grandpa behind the wheel ever since.
At some point, if we work on cars enough, we all want to learn how to paint.
I didn't even notice a 10mm comment. I did get the Harbor Fake Tools flare nut wrench sets today though.
I think I will try and replace the lines AND POR 15 my underbody sheet metal while I have the car jacked up. WISH ME LUCK.

OK guys, local Advance Auto is running 25% off on these lines, what sizes do I need?
3/16 and 5/16? Was OEM metric and if so, what sizes?
*Assuming I can get copper nickel lines in metric.

Hey guys, I bought 3/16 inch Copper-Nickel alloy line today.
I also bought 1/4 inch line but you guys are sure it's 5/16 I need for fuel lines? I can take it back for an exchange.

If I was going to do it... I'd get a price quote on a pre-bent kit from NAPA, rather then do it from scratch. You'll need to have someone with a factory scan tool command bleed your ABS unit. I'd replace all 4 lines if your going to bother with one. If you do the flares yourself, you might have a leak at a fitting, that's why I'd see what an aftermarket pre-bent kit would cost.

typhoon,
Sound advice no doubt, except my car didn't come with ABS. Anti-lock brakes were an option on Accords that year and mine isn't an EX model. I have both a tube bender and a double flare kit and I made fuel lines for my truck out of Poly Armor steel tubing just a couple of years ago (truck is a 1972 so no ABS either ). Cupric-nickel lines are supposed to be easier than steel to bend, I think I can get it.
I plan to replace all those under there. I'm one of those "while you're down there you might as well do X also." I just wish I could POR 15 the underside but it's gotten a bit cold for that now.
