all that will do is open the throttle plate more than its supposed to be open.... to alter "idle" speed, you need to manipulate the iacv or idle air control valve.
however, bear in mind that it is a pwm (pulse width modulated) componant that is controlled directly by the ecu.

no, dont just open the plate... your IDLE! is low for a reason, find and fix the problem thats causing your low idle and you wont have to adjust anything.

If you use the little idle bypass (needle valve) in the throttle body, then the ECU will command the IACV to close up a bit to compensate. When it's too far closed the control will become unstable. If you use the throttle cable it'll just be worse. You'll create a situation where the different parts of the idle control system are fighting against each other.

He is telling you exactly what to do and also telling you what will happen if you just turn a screw to raise the idle.

If it seem as though your idle speed has dropped that is usually an indication that something has changed and needs to be fixed/corrected. When was the last time you cleaned/changed your air filter? Try that first or maybe put some $$$ into a full tune up.

Seriously, how many hints were thrown that the correct spelling is IDLE? Too much Americon Idol has him messed up on the difference. Their is a difference or is they're?
On topic: I agree, don't just adjust the screw, find out what has changed to cause the idle to be different.

Re: (thn116)
its "idle" just so you know. everyone has been capitializing on it and after all that you still never noticed. When the car is in park it IDLES, when your sitting at a red light your car IDLES. If your sitting at home on a monday night, your watching America IDOL.

Give it up on the spelling crap. This is a tech form for cars not perfect English. The people trying to help this guy out knew what he was asking.
Oh just so you know 1413. The words "it's", "everyone" and "monday" from your post are all supposed to be capitalized.

Re: (dwayne1413)
hey ghost accord thanks. as for you dwayne1413 i'm guessing you don't know the answer to my question, so you're just spell checking because you have nothing better to do. wow you life must really suck. as for anyone else who wants to try to bust on me for messing the spelling up, this goes to you to. so if you don't know the answer, don't bother posting because you're just taking up space.
