Default H22a head on f22 block?

I have a stock US 97 Accord EX (F22A, right?) and was wondering if I can swap the head with a JDM h22a head. I heard it could be done, but with some piston work to ensure sufficent valve clearance. Would all this work be worth it, or should I just turbo the F22? I need a rebuild anyway. I am really at a loss at what to do with this car. It is paid for, but I sure am considering just buying a fast car (no fun, eh?). Someone gimme some advice, PLEASE!

You'd have to modify the head to match coolant and oil lines. This alone should be enough to discourage you from going on further with this.

It wouldn't cost a lot more for going turbo, or swapping to complete H22 instead.

he's right, the F22 is a high torque motor, look at the bore and stroke on it.

there was a shop that did a few of these, but they turned out to be suprising un reliable... big suprise.

anything is possible with money... whether it is actual practical thats another thing.

wait a minute I thought it wasn't possible to do because his F series is a SOHC motor and the H22 is a DOHC, I thought that wouldn't allow you to interchange them. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

you're right, it's not supposed to work. but thats what some ppl said about B20-VTEC frankenstiens, the 2 motors have different bore sizes so the head can't match up.

Just turbo the f22b1. You'll get more power by turbocharging the f22 than just the h22a swap alone. The f22b1 is also more suitable for turbocharging too with its 8:8.1 compression.
