Re: Front axle replacement
Rockauto, order up a new axle. I have had no problem with Cardone Select.
Follow the instructions in the FAQ at the top of the forum on how to pop hte lower BJ easily.
Hardest part is breaking the stub axle nut free.
Disconnect the sway bar endlink.
Use the technique on how to pop the lower BJ. Careful with the boot.
You will not need to separate the shock/coilover 'fork' from the lower control arm.
Keep the plastic wrap/bag on the axle while installing it(or put one on the end). This will protect the boots, especially the inner one when sliding it through the aforementioned fork.
When putting the inner stub axle into the transmission, carefully guide it past the oil seal. Splines on the inner stub can slice the seal, or if you pop out the garter spring(keeps tension on the seal) you will end up with a massive oil/atf leak.
I've changed out axles in ~15mins, just be aware and careful.
