please don't type like that anymore....

whoever said a F23A1 head onto a F22A1 block wouldn't work? Not much different than a F22B1 head onto the same block, which there are links to in the FAQ.
also, there is someone with a F23 head swap onto a F22A block and there thread is on the first page as I type this...

Looks like a VTEC head is already in there?

uh, he isn't asking about a F22B2 or F22B1 found in the 94-97 Accord, he is asking about a F22B DOHC head.

check the FAQ and search, should be very similar to swapping an H23 head on IIRC.

Re: F23A1 HEAD F22A1 BOTTOM
It lines up with the block yes. keeping in mind that the F23 has an 86mm bore and the F22A has an 85mm bore. The F23 combustion chambers are 1mm larger in diameter. Nothing to loose sleep over though!
Only thing to remember is that you have to remove the oil control orifice in the F22A block. You need to remove it in order for enough oil pressure to enter the cylinder head from the block. Without removing the orifice you will not have the proper oil pressure for the VTEC assembly and it may not engage.

Re: F23A1 HEAD F22A1 BOTTOM
Usually use the gasket that goes with the head. Even though the F22 gasket I have here is 86mm and would technically work.
Not sure if it has the opening for the VTEC oil port. Could probably drill it out if it doesn't though.

Re: F23A1 HEAD F22A1 BOTTOM
This sort of hybrid built is quite common. A lot of people on the forums call it a G23 or G23 VTEC build. Google and you will find lots of build threads, some probably dating from as far back as 2000.
