Default Engine needs replacing question

I have a 2000 accord 2 door coupe. It has the 4 cylinder Vtec with an automatic. The car has 208K miles but body and everything is still pretty good shape. It was driven hot and cracked the head so I am looking at replacing the engine with one from a salvage yard. My question is will a engine from a 1999 accord and transmission work in my coupe?

Thanks in advance,

Dogman1969

yes and beware when buying a motor at salvage yard make sure it is complete make a check list when inspecting before purchase. When i was looking for a stock replacement as a backup came across alot of them missing minor things here and there. on the f23 for some reason when i get one from junkyard i always have to replace the oil pan because its slightly pushed in from fork lift or rack they sit it on (eye cant really see it) Always got p1259 with pan they came with

Drive it hot enough to crack the head and oil rings tend to get stuck in the ringlands and they start burning oil.
