Which ECU to use?
Finished my tranny swap finally about two weeks ago. F22B1 '96 EX accord, pretty sure VTEC solenoid isn't kicking in as I'm still running stock auto OBD2 ECU.
Suggestions as to what ECU to grab? I know OBD2 > OBD1 harnesses run like 150 + the ECU, was thinking about getting a chipped OBD2 ECU. I could prolly easily enough get a 5spd OBD2 ECU, but if i'm going to change them might as well get an upgrade!
Any suggestion welcome please!

1. I would suggest the 5spd VTEC P0A ECU that you said you could get easy enough.
2. The chipped OBD2 ECU you are going to have a very, very hard time finding. There aren't to many chipped OBD2s out there.
3. If all you have for mods is swapping in a stock F22B1. Then I wouldn't bother getting a chipped OBD1 ECU just yet. You won't see a big gain over a stock P0A OBD2 ECU. Might as well wait until you have some mods worth putting your car on the dyno for tuning.
If you don't mind risking your engine running your car on a base map. Then I guess you could go with a chipped OBD1 P06 w/VTEC added. IMO, Any time your dealing with a chipped or modified ECU. You should take your car to a tuner to have it done properly.

Re: Which ECU to use? (96F22B1Accord)
Ya i haven't heard of a chipped obd2 ecu before. As far as i know, it's not possible but who knows. I have and f22b2 and i used a p06 ecu to get my car tuned when i turboed it. since you have the f22b1, i'm pretty sure your best route is to get a obd2 to obd1 harness (70 bucks on rywire) and i believe you would use a p28 since you have vtec. Can't you just yank out an obd2 ecu from a 5 speed f22b1 accord though? GhostAccord already said it, a tune on a stock accord is kind of a waste of money...you won't notice a gain.

Well, **** going by yalls suggestion I'm gonna pick up an OBD2 5spd, but I can't seem to find one as easily as I thought. Junkyards down here I'm not too familar with and I doubt they'd have anything decent. Any forum members or other places I can pick one up?
