Code 6 problem
I have a 92 accord 4cyl ex wagon. Recently just put back together after buying disassembled. Got it running and I have a code six and car is hard to start cold. I had replaced the coolant temp sensor on the head as when I got the car it was broken. I have verified that the new sensor is working by testing with a multimeter. I also verified that the connector has 5 volts going to it. One of the wires to the connector does have some bare wire showing. Is it possible that it is grounding out on something causing my problem or do I have another issue causing this? Thanks
So this is the two wire connector and its going to the ECU, yes? If so, then verify the connection at the ECU, maybe a resolder at the ECU. And yes, I don't think there should be any bare wire, nor should the connector be cracked in any way.
I am also not an expert on the 1992, but on my 99 I think it's possible that there is another connector nearby that can fit into that plug and so you can get an error from that at as. Again, i don't know if that issue exists on the 1992, but it can't hurt to check you didn't swap connections by accident.
